The BdN is one of the largest microfinance entities in Latin America and has a very innovative element in its structure that allows it to link in a very appropriate way with economic actors in the sectors served by the entity: “Development Agents”.

The BdN created these Development Agents to investigate the problems of each economic sector, adapt its financial products to the requirements of those sectors and articulate banking with the key actors in the development of each sector of the local economy.

The institutional structure in which the “Development Agents” are located are dedicated to carrying out a set of studies, investigations and evaluations that feed the financial entity in its decisions, to act consistently in favor of the development of an economic activity. This element is considered key to articulating banking with a specific sector and offering a wide range of financial products appropriate to support the development of that sector.

The systematization of the experience that allowed banking to be linked to the fishing and fish farming sectors will help CIDRE IFD to scale its services, linking complementary applied research activities for the development of financial products more appropriate for the economic actors served by the entity.

Through this agreement, in the next five years joint financing and technical assistance actions for producers linked to financial services will be consolidated, as an unequivocal sign of coincidence with the new national financial policy, for the strengthening of the agricultural and livestock sector. their contribution to the country's food security.
