Continuing the implementation of the Project's gender strategy, the second meeting of fish farming leaders was held in the Yapacaní Municipality on February 27 and 28, with the participation of 25 women and 24 men. The participants represented 14 producer organizations from the municipalities of Yapacaní, San Carlos, Entre Ríos and Puerto Villarroel.

The Second Meeting's objective was for the participants to promote a management plan that facilitates the economic exercise of women in their organizations and strengthens the development of fish farming in their communities.

The representatives of the organizations reached a level of awareness for the exercise of rights and carried out a deep reflection on how to promote the participation of men and women in their organizations, the exercise of board portfolios, as well as improve the capacities of women to participate and be represented in their efforts.
The organizations have agreed on a plan to strengthen their organizations in three areas: governance management, productive management and commercial management. These activities will continue to be supported by PPVII and by the Network of local Extensionists, who have also been trained on these topics.
